Born in Tokyo,
reading the fine print
for you.

I was born and raised in Tokyo. I work with businesses in Japan every day, and I have seen how often good owners miss out on support simply because the rules are written in Japanese.

I read the official guidelines, check every number against the source, and rewrite them in English you can act on.

Photography is my hobby, so I care about pages that are clear at a glance.

Raised in Shizuoka,
checking every number
twice.

I grew up in Shizuoka, where the sea and rivers were always close by. My hobby is fishing.

At work I help businesses with forms and procedures, so I know how small details decide whether an application goes through.

Like waiting for the right tide, I read each program’s rules closely so you know what to expect before you apply.

Why this site exists

Japan spends large budgets every year helping small businesses invest, hire and raise wages. Foreign-owned businesses can apply too — but almost everything is written in Japanese, and the English information online is scattered and often years out of date.

Japan Subsidy Guide reads the official Japanese sources and explains each program in English: who can apply, how much you can get, what to prepare and what to avoid.

Who we are

A two-person team based in Tokyo — Takaaki I (operator) and Yuki O, introduced above. We work with businesses in Japan every day and have seen how often good businesses miss out because of language.
