What Jgrants is
Jgrants (Jグランツ) is used by many national and local subsidies — for example, Tokyo's Inbound Support Subsidy. Not every program uses it: the Digitalization & AI Subsidy, the Sustainability Subsidy and the Monozukuri Subsidy have their own online systems. The guidelines (公募要領) always say where to apply.
The seven steps
- 01
Search for the subsidy 補助金を探す
Find the program on Jgrants and read its guidelines.
- 02
Log in with gBizID Prime GビズIDでログイン
Get the account first — see our gBizID guide.
- 03
Apply 公募の申請
Fill in the form and attach documents. You receive the review result by email.
- 04
Apply for the grant 交付申請
If selected, submit the grant application from My Page. Then wait for the grant decision.
- 05
Run the project 事業実施
If plans change, file the change procedure from My Page.
- 06
Report the results 実績報告
After the project, submit your completion report. The final amount is confirmed by email.
- 07
Request payment 精算払請求
Submit the payment request from My Page and receive the subsidy.
The exact steps differ by subsidy. Some combine the application and the grant application.
Tips that save time
- Try the practice subsidy. Jgrants publishes a practice program so you can test applying without a real application.
- Register your business details in advance, including offices and your bank account. The bank account is checked automatically.
- Let an expert apply for you. Through gBizID delegation, a licensed expert can prepare and submit as your agent.
- Apply early. Near deadlines, a virtual waiting room may hold you in a queue.
Watch maintenance windows
Jgrants and gBizID announce maintenance on their top pages. Logins stop during these windows — avoid planning to submit on a deadline night.
