How it works

  • Labor insurance covers workers’ accident compensation and employment insurance
  • Each year you declare the final premium for the previous fiscal year (April–March) and the estimated premium for the current year
  • Both are based on wages paid to employees
  • File and pay between June 1 and July 10 (the dates move if they fall on a weekend)
  • You can file and pay online at any time during the period

If you are late

If you do not file, the government can set the premium for you and add a surcharge of 10% of the amount due. Put the dates in your calendar from your first year of hiring.

Paying in installments

If the estimated premium is large enough (or you are in a labor insurance association), you can pay in three installments: the first by the July deadline, then around the end of October and the end of January.
